OR Consulting Engineers were appointed as environmental engineers, lighting designers, and acoustic consultants for the fast-track, phased refurbishment of the historic Morant Building at Parliament Hill School. Our design approach skillfully combined contemporary engineering solutions with the preservation of the building’s historic features, ensuring the refurbished spaces felt both modern and authentically preserved.
The phased refurbishment included:
• Refurbishing the Art Department to create a more functional and inspiring space.
• Designing new music classrooms tailored for acoustic excellence.
• Creating a new Learning Resource Centre to support modern teaching methods.
• Refurbishing 20 general teaching spaces, improving both energy efficiency and comfort.
• Building a new photography studio and darkroom facility, fully equipped for student needs.
