OR Consulting partnered with Brinkworth Design to transform two massive 1,000m² agricultural water storage tanks into stunning luxury eco-homes. One of these unique residences was designed as both a home and studio for artist Dinos Chapman.

To bring these extraordinary structures to life, we developed an environmental strategy that pushed the boundaries of sustainable design. Carefully refined to meet the rigorous Code for Sustainable Homes standards, our approach included:

• Super-insulation: Lining the “tanking” walls and incorporating earth bunds to maximize thermal efficiency.
  Smart glazing: High-performance windows to enhance natural daylight while minimizing solar gain.
  Renewable energy: A ground source heat pump system to sustainably heat the entire building.
  Efficient ventilation: A whole-house ventilation strategy with heat recovery to maintain air quality and reduce energy loss.-
  Water conservation: A rainwater recycling system to lessen reliance on local water supplies.
  Low-energy lighting: Thoughtfully designed general and display lighting with intelligent controls for energy efficiency.

This project seamlessly blends innovation, sustainability, and luxury—proving that bold design and eco-consciousness can go hand in hand.
