OR Consulting were appointed to act as low carbon building services engineers and acousticians for the low carbon office redevelopment and extension of 40 Long Acre.

40 Long Acre is an existing office, situated above the historic Covent Garden tube station surrounded by a mix of retail, commercial and residential properties.  The building is partially listed and our engineers employed a sensitively integrated approach to updating the existing services to a high calibre Category A standard.

To optimise the commercial value of the property, fire engineering and building services strategies were employed to redefine escape routes to ensure that building users will no longer be required to escape through neighbouring properties.

Environmentally, the scheme exceeds all requirements of the 2016 London Plan, achieving a BREEAM ‘Very Good’ rating.
