Project Details
Sky Gallery is a three storey building located within The O2 where members of the public can explore the world’s first 3D gallery showcasing the best in 3D
content.
Sky Backstage is an area right behind the main stage at The O2, for the exclusive use of Sky customers and their guests to enjoy before and after the main event.
Service Provided
OR Consulting helped define the project’s building services brief, as well as developed and realised the design.
Key Achievements Included:
Developing an environmental strategy within the backstage bar that could accommodate the differing environmental conditions for each Arena event production (e.g. ice shows, concerts, sporting events).
Maintaining environmental design conditions for the Sky 3D gallery.
Developing design strategies to satisfy complex building control and fire safety issues.
Developing lift safety and security strategies and integrating their design with the wider venue systems.
Identifying a specialist lift solution to overcome poor ground conditions and realise the Sky Gallery’s DPA access strategy.
Integrating the electrical services design with the complex requirements of the AV installations.
Developing building services solutions to meet stringent acoustic and black out requirements.
