Museum Design
A crucial element of the project was to create environmental conditions to conserve the exhibits without constraining the Architectural or Exhibition Design.
Key works included the creation of a temperature, humidity, UV and acoustically controlled exhibition spaces.
To protect exhibits and visitors alike the building incorporates aspirating fire detection, smoke control and sprinklers.
Sustainable Design
Wherever practicable, the design incorporate sustainable design strategies such as: water efficient fittings, natural ventilation to non-critical areas, optimal daylight, SUDs and energy efficient heat pump technologies.
Project completed by Peter Roberts as lead designer for Buro Happold Consulting Engineers.
