Faculty Building, Imperial College
The Faculty Building Project was a £13M office development for Imperial College.
The development was architecturally designed by Foster and Partners to a commercial office specification and won a commendation from the Civic Trust.
Computer Modelling
Three dimensional computer modelling techniques were employed to optimise the building's passive solar performance. A three dimensional modelling of the building together with the surrounding buildings was created to establish the optimal arrangement of opaque to transparent panels on the building's façade.
Mechanical Interventions
The development utilised displacement ventilation and multi-service chilled beam technologies and was powered by heat from the college's district heating system.
Project completed by Peter Roberts as lead designer for Buro Happold Consulting Engineers.
